WELCOME TO CAMP IT
An integrated smart indoor – outdoor web based Energy Management System for University Campuses.
A University campus can be viewed as a small «town» due to its wide variety of activities. The energy and environmental impact of universities could be considerably reduced by applying organizational, technological and energy optimization measures.
To design and operate a sustainable campus, it is essential to take into account – among other – the real time interaction between the indoor and outdoor environment.
In this direction Camp IT is expected to create new frontiers for research and development in energy management by considering the single building aspect as part of a “district” approach where real time interaction of indoor and outdoor spaces is monitored and controlled.
DEVELOP, VALIDATE & IMPLEMENT

SENSORS
Sensors and metering equipment installed in various thermal zones provide measurements of temperature, relative humidity, CO2, lighting levels, electrical energy consumption and human presence. In addition temperature and relative humidity data in the surrounding environment of the buildings under study is recorded and evaluated.
↓TARGETS
Advancing state of the art in the modeling of buildings by incorporating outdoor spaces thus creating a holistic methodology on “district models”.
Advancing state of the art in expert systems and control algorithms for energy load prediction and shaping in small communities.
Providing optimal or near-optimal demand balance while maintaining users’ health and comfort needs.
Advancing state of the art user-interaction and data exchange by wireless technologies or existing IP infrastructure.
Integration of systems and designs in a fully-functional system.
Evaluation of Camp-IT system based on cost /energy efficiency and operation.
Setting up of infrastructure to prepare the ground for a future smart grid community.
